||Cotlands is a nonprofit organisation that has been providing for young children for more than seven decades. Originally founded in 1936 in Johannesburg, Cotlands is now active in five provinces, serving more than 8 000 beneficiaries through a range of services and projects.
Cotlands Toy Library Association of South Africa is conducting a course on Skills Development Through Play from 23-25 July 2013 in Johannesburg.
The course is designed for individuals interested in early childhood development and enhancing learning through play and for anyone interacting with children on a daily basis and who is interested in helping children reach their full development.
The participants will learn:
• Introduction to play;
• Overview of children’s developmental area;
• Summary of important factors for being ready for formal schooling;
• Perceptual development;
• In-depth exploration of each developmental area and the associated activities and toys to enhance that particular area of development through play:
Large muscle development (spatial concepts);
Small muscle development;
Cognitive development (problem solving and basic mathematical concepts); and
The course comes with an educational toy that will enhance a child's development.
Fee: R1 750 for non-members.
Members of the Cotlands Toy Library Association of South Africa enjoy special rates on all training.
