According to the Department of Trade and Industry, the Global Summit of Women is a non-profit organisation headed by the International Planning Committee of Women leaders from different parts of the world.

In addition to focusing on the emergence of women as political and business leaders, the summit will provide information on access to the Malaysian and Asian-Pacific markets, and there will also be a skills-building sessions.

“The Global Summit of Women has been enabling women leaders to grow their businesses, expand their networks and enlarge their opportunities in their countries, regions and globally. This is why we want our South African businesswomen and aspirant young women to be part of this event,” said Thabethe.

Over 1 000 women leaders will share their winning strategies to advance women’s economic lives and ensure global prosperity.

Thabethe explained that the summit had succeeded in being the vehicle for the formation of international and regional networks.

The summit concludes on Saturday.
