Angola: Science, Innovation Should Promote Human Resources, Infrastructure

Luanda — The National Director of Technological and Innovator Development (DNDTI), Gabriel Luís said the science, technology and research policy should promotes and develop human resources and infrastructure adequate for production, dissemination and appropriation of knowledge and innovation.

The official was speaking at the opening of the general assembly for proclamation of the Angolan Association of Inventors and Innovators, in representation of the Minister of Science and Technology, Maria Candida Teixeira.

He spoke of promotion of a scientific and technology culture, and a cooperation among different partners.

The intention, according to him, is to transform science, technology and innovation into a strategic element of development policy.

The National Policy on Technological Science and Innovation of Angola as well as its main management tools: the National Strategy of Technology Science and Innovation (SNCTI) and the Coordinating Mechanism of SNCTI, are the expansion of the Executive's will to integrate technological science and innovation in the development strategy of the country.

The National Policy on Technological Science and Innovation of Angola as well as its main management tools was approved by the Cabinet Council and promulgated by President José Eduardo dos Santos, under decrees 201/11 of 20 July, 196/11 of 11 July and 224/11 of 11 August.
