The CPSI Annual awards promotes and encourage best practice in public sector innovation and celebrate the successes of individuals and teams at all spheres of government.The awards have become an important conduit for entry into prestigious international awards programmes such as the UN Awards, CAPAM International Innovation Awards, the All Africa Public Sector Innovation Awards (AAPSIA) and the African Association for Public Administration Management (AAPAM) Awards.
Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration Ms Ayanda Dlodlo, DPSA Director-General, Mr Mashwahle Diphofa and GEMS Acting CEO, Dr Stan Moabi were among the VIPs attending the ceremony. Representatives of sponsors, including Eskom, MTN Business, Capitec Bank and Mail & Guardian were also there.
In her keynote address Deputy Minister Dlodlo said it was important to ensure that public services become more efficient and effective, and that innovation is one mechanism through which a better public service delivery can be ensured.
“As we celebrate the tenth year of the awards, we still need to deepen participation from all corners of South Africa, especially from local government; the CPSI awards should be seen as a platform to showcase innovative practices within the public sector,” she said.
CPSI chief executive, Ms Thulisile Radebe acknowledged and thanked the attendance of everyone who was present.

South Africa: Public Sector Innovation Celebrated and Rewarded at CPSI Awards It was a night filled with celebration when the Centre for Public Service Innovation CPSI held its 10th annual Public Sector Innovation Awards at Emperors Palace last Friday The categories presented at the awards included Innovative Partnership in Service Delivery Innovative use of ICTs for Effective Service Delivery Innovative Service Delivery Institutions and Innovative Enhancements of Internal Systems of Government Category winners competed for the coveted Public Sector Innovator of the Year Award which went to Ligbron E-learning project from the Mpumalanga Province
