Community Work Programme (CWP) is a community driven government programme, based in the Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs.
Its primary purpose is to create access to a minimum level of regular and predictable work for unemployed and/ or under-employed.
It also aims to contribute to the development of community assets and services, to strengthen community development approaches, and the community ‘agency’ of people in marginalised economic areas enhancing dignity and promoting social and economic inclusion.
The purpose of the workshop is amongst others to:
• Share and deepen understanding of all stakeholders about the programme including its norms and standards.
• Build a platform for cooperation and partnership with all role-players in the roll-out of the programme.
