Dubai, Oct. 15 -- (BNA): Bahrain pavilion in GITEX2014 has seen an intensive series of visits from the pavilions of the participating countries and exhibition visitors including both companies and individuals, as a platform for national entities and international organizations to meet their counterparts with a view to explore the joint venture opportunities in the regional market.

Visits were paid during the last few days to the pavilions, which were from France, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Germany, Hong Kong, Morocco, Nigeria, and Switzerland, as well as other ICT international companies.

During meetings with several countries, Bahrain pavilion focused on highlighting the advantages of the investment climate in Bahrain and the impact of such advantages on the ICT market in the Kingdom, with a core focus on promoting Bahraini companies to the visiting GCC and regional markets.

In this regard, the Acting Director of Marketing & Awareness Directorate at the E-Government Authority, Mr. Fahad Isa Al Qadhi stated that eGA’s participation at this event has helped gain access to the experiences of other countries in areas covering eGovernment and information technology.

E-Government Authority’s participation revolved around showcasing its preparations towards hosting the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015, together with its recent milestone achievement as Bahrain ranks 18th place in the eGovernment as per this year's United Nations (UN) eGovernment Survey and topped the rankings at the level of all Arab and Middle East region , moreover, it also highlights its success stories and national projects, specifically the Business Licensing Integrated System (BLIS) .

WorkSmart’s CEO for Events Managements Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy explained that Bahrain’s participation at GITEX 2014 has allowed Bahraini companies to keep abreast with the latest trends, understanding opportunities available on the most attractive markets in ICT industry, showcasing their products and enhancing their presence by expanding their activities across the region through the conclusion of joint cooperation agreements.

"We managed to enhance Bahrain’s presence in GITEX this year by visiting pavilions, meeting several international delegations and getting in touch with the ICT leading professionals and experts across the globe .We in turn highlight Bahrain’s success stories and facilities offered by the Kingdom as part of its plan to enhance its ICT infrastructure.’’ Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) Chairman Mr. Ubaydli Al Ubaydli stated.

The Economic Development Board (EDB), eGovernment Authority (eGA), and various leading NGOs, along with ICT companies from Bahrain took part in the Bahrain pavilion, with 20% new exhibitors attending for the very first time.
