At the ceremony Minister Maeng pledged contribution to the world’s e-governance system on behalf of the Korean government. He then talked with Sha Zukang the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs and Spain’s Secretary of State for Public Service Consuelo Rumi on advancing e-governance.
The public administration ministry underlined that this is a big leap for Korea, a country that once used to adopt modern administrative systems from abroad, and that this latest achievement has effectively laid a basis for Korea’s export of its successful e-governance system.
Meanwhile, the ministry also revealed a marketing plan that is already underway joining Korea Information Technology Service Industry Association and other public and private officials to make the Korean e-governance system another hot export commodity like semiconductors, LCDs and cell phones.
