The Dutch ICT sector continues to suffer from a shortage of qualified job candidates, according to a survey by the state statistics bureau CBS. It has the most difficult time finding ICT staff, out of all industry sectors, followed by financial services providers and energy and water companies. Six in ten companies said they had trouble finding qualified ICT staff.

Out of all companies in the country with at least 10 employees, 9 percent had openings for ICT specialists in 2015. Over half of these, or 5 percent of the total, had difficulty filling the vacancies. Large companies, with 250 or more workers, most often had ICT job openings, at 41 percent, compared to just 6 percent of businesses with 6-50 employees. However in both groups more than half said it was difficult to fill the roles.
