In an effort to increase transparency in state government, state Rep. Carol Sente (D-59th) will conduct a Freedom of Information Act seminar next week to assist public officials, non-profits, and other organizations that interact with government agencies.
Sente has invited the Attorney General’s Office to lead the seminar, which is scheduled for 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lincolnshire Village Hall, 1 Half Day Road.
“This informative seminar will be a helpful tool for area officials and organizations responding to FOIA requests,” Sente said. “With recent changes to FOIA regulations, I want to ensure that FOIA officers have all the information necessary to comply with the law.
“I am thankful for the assistance of the Attorney General’s Office in organizing this event and helping to promote greater transparency in government.”
For information or to RSVP, contact Sente’s constituent service office at (847) 478-9909 or e-mail RepSente@gmail.com.
