The BBC is considering a cull of its mobile apps in order to make a single point of entry for mobile users of its services, the Telegraph reports. The corporation has launched a review of its collection of apps with a view to simplifying its presence online.
A BBC source said the review will assess whether there should be a single entry point for licence fee payers on mobile devices. Currently there are separate apps for the iPlayer, radio, news, sport, music, revision and CBeebies, among others. One option would be to focus efforts on the BBC+ app introduced last year.
