2014 has shaped up to be one of the most critical years in the history of the Internet to date

Critical challenges have shaken the Internet this year, including disclosures of mass government surveillance, undermining of our expectations of online privacy, or measures for greater government control over what we can see or do online. It was a reminder that the open Internet is not a given – we have to fight for it! But great challenges can generate great opportunities – and we need you to be a part of the solution.

Be a Part of the 2014 Internet Governance Forum:

Connecting Continents for Enhanced Multi-stakeholder Internet Governance

In April, leaders and stakeholders from around the world gathered for an important discussion on how to strengthen the foundations of how the Internet is governed at the NETmundial conference. One key recommendation was to strengthen the Internet Governance Forum. It’s now time to continue the discussion and develop local solutions with a global impact at the 2014 Internet Governance Forum (IGF). From the 2nd - 5th of September you can make your voice heard in the most pivotal event of the year regarding the future of the Internet.

The IGF and You

The IGF is a global conference that allows anyone to participate and have their say on the future of the Internet. It began over 8 years ago and is unique in its ability to build relationships and allow participants – both on the ground and remotely – to share ideas and experiences about what’s worked when it comes to key policy or technical issues related to the Internet in their business, cities, towns, or countries. The 2014 IGF will serve as the first of its kind to feature Best Practice Forums that help develop tangible solutions to some of the most difficult challenges we face when it comes to the Internet today. From sharing best practices and ideas to building personal relationships, the 2014 IGF is one of the only places where everyone can gather together and discuss critical Internet issues on equal footing – including you! If you are a policy or decision maker, business leader, entrepreneur, technical expert, content expert, blogger, or anyone who has a stake in the future of the Internet we need your voice at the 2014 IGF.

Register for the 2014 Internet Governance Forum

Now’s your chance to take part in the most pivotal event for the future of the Internet. No matter if you’re on the ground or participating remotely the 2014 IGF, you’ll be able to make personal contacts and share ideas that you can use to build policies, businesses, and priceless relationships.
