Vietnamese people have been carrying non-stop discussions on the key cases of anti-corruption recently.

Joint efforts by the country's government and party showed that, there is no safety zone in the fight against corruption which makes local people become more and more confident, voter Nguyen Dinh Huong was quoted by local Tien Phong (Pioneer) online newspaper as saying that at the 13th meeting of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on Sunday.

Vietnam Farmers Association Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong shared the view with Huong, adding that there must be a mechanism or measure to ensure security for those who delate corruption crimes.

In an interview with the country's state-run news agency VNA on the occasion of coming Lunar New Year on Sunday, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong said after the establishment and operation of a central steering committee on prevention of corruption one year ago, many complicated corruption lawsuits have been put on trial, winning great consensus among people.

The committee had closely supervised the investigation of top 10 corruption cases in 2013 and is expected to take some other cases into serious consideration in 2014, said Trong.

However, Trong told VNA that, the most adorable result in the struggle against corruption in the country is to prevent it from happening. Handling stringently existing cases is also a positive prevention measure, Trong added.

In a recent move, the CPV Politburo issued a directive that helps strengthen the party's supervision on asset declaration among civil servants and party members. Vietnamese Nhan Dan online newspaper reported Monday that, the directive, 33-CT/TW, is seen as another development in preventing corruption in Vietnam.
