Restaurants in South Korea will be required from next year to provide the total cost of an item on menus including value-added tax and service charges.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on Monday revisions to regulations on food sanitation under which restaurants must also list the price of meat per 100 grams, instead of per person, on their menus.
The ministry said it will issue correction orders for restaurants that violate the new regulations once and force repeat violators to close for a minimum of seven days.
Moreover, from January 31st, restaurants larger than 150 square meters will be required to display their prices outside in a bid to help patrons make choices.
