The global phablet market of smartphones that have over five inch display panels is currently being dominated by South Korean electronics companies.
According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung Electronics carried a massive market share of 78 percent in the global phablet market in the third quarter of this year, with LG Electronics in second with 14 percent, making nine out of ten phablets sold in the world South Korean.
The analysis company said Samsung Electronics is acting as the founder of the phablet market with its Galaxy Note series, not unlike the way Apple Inc expanded the smartphone market with its iPhones.
