MANILA, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The leader of the rogue group Abu Sayyaf operating in southern Philippines had been included in the list of most wanted terrorists by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Philippine military said Thursday.
Col. Orlando de Leon, commander of the Marine forces in Sulu province, said the inclusion of Raddulan Sahiron will help local authorities to capture him, adding, "(Sahiron) is out of the ambit of our law so he should be brought to justice."
He assured that military operations are continuing against Sahiron and his men in the island of Mindanao.
The FBI said Sahiron has been the overall leader of the Abu Sayyaf Group since 2005 and is believed to be in Patikul village in the town of Jolo, Sulu.
The Abu Sayyaf leader is wanted for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of American missionary Charles Watson in Sulu in November 1993.
The U.S. State Department offered a reward of 1 million U.S. dollars for information that would lead to his capture.
