Uzbekistan: Salaries and Pensions Will Increase by 1.1 Times from December 1

Salaries of employees of budget institutions and organizations, pensions and social benefits, scholarships in Uzbekistan will be increased by an average of 1.1 times from December 1, 2012, according to the decree of President Islam Karimov released on Friday.

According to the presidential decree since August 1 the minimum salary will set at 79.590 thousand soums, the minimum old-age pension and benefits disabled since childhood - 155.670 thousand sums, benefits for the elderly and disabled citizens who do not have the required work experience - 95.520 thousand soums for a month.

All kinds of allowances and bonuses to salaries, pensions, allowances for mothers to care for children up to the age of two years, benefits for families with children, compensation and other payments established in relation to the minimum wage are made since December 1, 2012 from a specific decree of the minimum wage.

The costs associated with an increase in wages of employees of budgetary institutions and organizations, pensions, allowances and grants are made from the state budget of the Republic and budget Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance.

Self-supporting associations, enterprises and organizations will produce wage increases in line with the minimum wage by increasing efficiency and reducing labor costs.

The previous increase the minimum wage by an average of 15 per cent was held in Uzbekistan from 1 August 2012. Then, the minimum salary was set at $ 72.355 thousand soums, the minimum old-age pension and benefits disabled since childhood - 141.52 thousand sums, benefits for the elderly and disabled citizens who do not have the required work experience - 86.835 thousand soums.
