Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) representative Masud Akhmad in Dushanbe on Monday, Avesta.tj reported.
The sides discussed the issues of current importance, as well as the prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the IMF.
They expressed satisfaction with successful evaluation of a joint program on a wide mechanism of crediting taking into consideration the hard situation in the world's economy.
They also said that they satisfied with Tajikistan's economic development during 9 months of the year.
They supported an idea of creating and developing a new program between Tajikistan and the IMF, as well as continuing their cooperation.
