Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev has signed the law "On Amendments to the Law of the of Kyrgyzstan "On Science and the Foundations of State Science and Technology Policy," the presidential press service said on Monday.

The law was adopted by the Kyrgyz Parliament on April 19.

The purpose of the law is to improve the management of scientific institutions by clarifying provisions on election of heads of state research institutions, as well as establishing the requirements for candidacy of leaders of these institutions.

This law will come into force from the date of publication.
