Laos s ASEAN Integration Programme Discussed

The government officials met representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to discuss Laos Pilot Programme for Narrowing the Development Gap towards ASEAN Integration (LPP). The discussion took place in Vientiane Capital on November 12. The Lao side was led by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Bounthavy Sisouphanthong and the JICA side was headed by JICAs Senior Vice President Khenzo Oshima. The LPP is supported by the Japanese government and it is interesting to many countries. The implementation of the programme will be responsibility of the Lao government and JICA. The programme is designed to make the Lao PDR environmental friendly developed nation, enhance its economy stability and make known the Lao culture and environment as well as facilitate the government effort in developing connectivity with regional countries.
