International Conference "Introduction of broadband access technologies: problems and ways to solution" was held in Tashkent on 4-5 November.
The event was organized by Uzbek Agency for Communication and Informatization, UNICON.UZ Center for scientific and marketing researches and Scientific Technical Society of Radio Equipment, Electronics and Communication of Uzbekistan.
The conference was aimed at revealing obstacles for the development and introduction of broadband access technologies, provision of information on latest achievements in this sphere, elaboration of recommendations on key aspects of the development and introduction of broadband access technologies. The conference noted a huge number of researches proving positive feedback from investments in broadband networks.
It was stated that the access to broadband Internet helps to increase the productivity and competitiveness, to reduce costs, to improve economic activity organization in the market and to promote social dialogue and education.
The two-day conference discussed such pressing issues as modern state of introduction of broadband access technologies, tasks and opportunities provided by broadband access technologies, regulation of broadband access operators' activity, perspectives for the introduction of modern technologies of broadband access, elimination of digital gap by the use of such technologies and universalization of broadband services, tasks and opportunities of the broadband technologies market.
The conference was attended by IT experts of Uzbekistan and CIS as well as representatives of major suppliers of telecommunication equipment and mobile operators.
