The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare plans to facilitate an access to employment for over 96,400 people this fiscal year (2010-2011).
The ministry aims to decrease the labour market share for the agriculture and forestry sector down from 75.1 per cent to 74.1 per cent but increase that of industry and construction from 5.5 per cent to 5.7 percent and that of service from 19.4 per cent to 20 per cent.
The ministry held a meeting to assess its performance over the past five years and work out a new plan in Vientiane on October 20-22.
Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Ms. Onechanh Thammavong, urged relevant sectors under the ministry to pay attention to their administrative work and enhance their cooperation and collaboration to realise the targets set and approved in the meeting.
