It is every man's desire to live in a country that is prosperous and fends well. So it will be interesting to know which are the best countries in the world to live in. In a survey of 100 countries by Newsweek magazine, Finland is the best nation in the world.
India ranked way behind at 78th position. Even small countries like Singapore (rank 20), Malaysia (rank 37) and Sri Lanka (rank 66) fared better than us.
In terms of innovation, India scores 3.73. In ease of doing business, India is at an utterly poor 133rd position: it takes 30 days to start a new business in India.
The survey also reported the life expectancy of Indians to be 56 years. A panel of economists and social policy experts formulated the world's best nations after measuring taking five parameters like economic competitiveness, quality of life, education, health, and political environment. Of these India, scores the lowest in economic dynamism.
The countries that rounded off the top ten nations are Switzerland, Sweden, Australia, Luxembourg, Norway, Canada, The Netherlands, Japan and Denmark in the order from two to ten, following Finland.
