Council of the Senate [upper house] of Oliy Majlis [parliament] of Uzbekistan on 8 July held meeting to discuss implementation of the Program of new workplaces creation and maintaining employment of the population for 2010.
The program was developed within the realization of President's statement at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan devoted to results socioeconomic development of the country in 2009, priorities of economic program for 2010. The program was approved by the resolution of the Senate on 4 December 2009.
These priorities include continuing and deepening reforms, renovation and modernization of the country, unconditional implementation of antic-crisis measures for 2009-2010, ensuring high and stable economic growth rates and its efficiency, pursuing powerful social policy.
The meeting noted that certain measures were taken in real economic branches and the country's territories on implementation of the program. The program's forecast parameters were fulfilled in excess. Credit resources allocated by Employment Assistance Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Uzbekistan exceeded 2.14 billion soums.
It was underlined especially that 132,000 workplaces were created due to the organization of small enterprises and micro firms, 101,700 workplaces – due to progress of all forms of out-work, including workmanship and national crafts, 59,400 workplaces – due to progress of the farms specializing on poultry farming, animal industries, fish breeding, etc.
The Council meeting participants stated that 91,400 workplaces were created during the past five months of 2010 within the Anti-crisis program for 2009-2012. More than 42,000 workplaces were formed only due to implementation of the Program of development of housing construction and settlements accomplishment.
Credit resources allocated by banks for recovery, expansion and development of activity of business entities, creation of new enterprises have vital importance in the organization of workplaces.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Senate and the Government, heads of corresponding ministries, state committees and departments, Central Bank and commercial banks of Uzbekistan, deputies of local councils of people's deputies, representatives of NGOs and mass media.
