Turkmenistan adopted the law "Local authorities", determining the powers, the order of activities and relationships with other authorities and management.
In accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the local executive power in Turkmenistan is implemented in the provinces (regions) by local chief executives (heads), provinces with the rights of the region (hereinafter - the province) - by governors of cities, districts - by governors of provinces.
According to articles, governors are representatives of the Turkmen President.
The text of the new law, approved by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov, has been published in the local press.
