Another Australian company has struck a multi-billion dollar gas deal with China.Gold Coast-based Icon Energy on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shenzhen Sino Industrial Development Company to provide 40-million tonnes of liquified natural gas over 20 years.
The deal could be worth up to $AU32 billion dollars.The LNG will come from the company's tenements in Southern Queensland and South Australia but it's not yet clear where the gas will leave Australia.A company spokesman says it's considering ports in either Gladstone or Adelaide and is in talks with the governments of both states.
