MUSCAT — The “Omani e-library” was launched at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs here yesterday by Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed al Salmi, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. The project seeks to enable researchers from the Sultanate and abroad to benefit from smart digital solutions which offers e-books and references, said Dr Mohammed bin Said al Maamari, Scientific Adviser at the Ministry. The e-library contains major religious books of Omani origin, said al Maamari, noting that the project took for months to develop. Dr Nasser bin Sulaiman al Sab’ee, Director-General of Religious Guidance, said that the project forms a shift to the world of electronics and e-government and it serves a large segment of researchers.
