The e-Bidding system of the Tender Board won the best award in the government-to-government project category.

The higher education admission system of the higher education admission centre won the best Gulf e-Project and the best e-Portal in the development field.

Eighty-five projects from the GCC countries competed for the top places at the second Gulf e-Government awards.

Dr Salim bin Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, executive president, Information Technology Authority (ITA) said that the achievement reflects the efforts made by the government organisations jointly with the ITA in developing and constantly updating the e-projects.

He said the recognition earned by the e-Government projects at the Gulf, Arab and international levels clearly proves that the Sultanate’s strategy to build e-Oman and e-Government is steadily moving forward.

Dr Badr Al Manthri, information security officer at Information Security Centre of the ITA, and member of the jury panel, said the awards aim at encouraging the government organisations in the GCC countries to ensure easy, transparent and cost-effective services.
