The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) unveiled today the new DHA website which was
presented for the first time at the Gitex technology conference. The website,
www.dha.gov.ae, has been designed keeping e-government requirements in mind and
with the launch of this website; DHA is now one of the few government
institutions in Dubai which provides complete comprehensive customer focussed
information through its website.
12 new sub-sites launched
Moreover, the main website has
12 sub-sites linked to it including Dubai Hospital, Rashid Hospital, Al Wasl
Hospital, DHA Medical Education, DHA Health Regulation etc.
His
Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the DHA, said, "As the
strategic health authority of Dubai, we wanted to ensure that we tailor our
information to meet the needs of different stakeholders. Thus the website has a
separate interface which provides specific information for users such as
patients, investors, students, researchers, employees and professionals.
Moreover, we have revamped our online interface for important health services
such as the medical fitness tests which is compulsory for all expatriates living
and working in Dubai and this feature will benefit a large percentage of the
population in Dubai."
Enhanced Medical Fitness interface for the
public
With the implementation of the new medical fitness
interface, now a customer simply has to type his/her healthcare number and
occupation and the system will automatically propose packages for the customer,
based upon his/her job description.
The system can also provide package
options, depending on the urgency level.
This means the customer no
longer needs to navigate and search for the tests required as the website will
provide all the details.
Once the customer has selected the requisite
package, payment can be made online and the customer can choose the nearest
health centre to go and conduct the tests.
Through the already existing
integration with Dubai Naturalization and Immigration Department (DNRD) the
results of the tests are sent online to DNRD.
"Issuance and renewal of
work and residency visas is a very important feature which affects a large part
of the population in Dubai and therefore we revamped this interface to make it
as customer friendly as possible," said Al Murooshid.
Search
options for physician/ facility/ pharmacy in Dubai
The new DHA
website has a feature which allows a customer to search for any public or
private health centre, hospital, physician or pharmacy in the Emirate of Dubai.
"We consider the private sector to be our partners and not our competitors and
thus the aim of the website is to provide complete health information to the
public, regardless of whether they choose to seek services through the private
or the public sector," said Al Murooshid.
Keeping this aim in mind, in
future, the DHA will work to towards further integration with the private sector
to expand its scope of services on the website
Enhanced Patient
record system
The new website also has an enhanced online
patient record system so that patients can access to medical records online.
Mubaraka Ibrahim, Director of IT at the DHA, said, "Keeping in mind the growing
emergence of online patient medical record systems, we have enhanced this
feature which allows patients using DHA health facilities to book and reschedule
their appointments, check their results, access medical reports and medication
online and transfer their medical file from one DHA health centre to
another."
Renewal/ Issuance of health professionals/ facility
license
For the ease of the healthcare sector in Dubai, the DHA
has launched a dedicated DHA regulation sub-site so that health facilities and
professionals can obtain specific information they require from the sub-site.
Health professionals can issue or renew their licenses online and facilities can
renew their licenses online using this system.
Other features
like Google maps
The new website also has a host of other
features such as alerts and notifications. All DHA facilities are marked on
Google maps and users can pull out any information they like in the Really
Simple Syndication (RSS) format.
