The sultanate’s largest IT, telecom and technology show – COMEX 2010 & the 3rd Government eServices Exhibition kicked off in grand style on 26 April 2010 at the Oman Exhibition Centre in Seeb. Open until Friday, 30 April, this year’s COMEX has grown considerably in size and offers greater numbers of activities.
The Government eServices Exhibition offers you the latest in technology and is here to help you make your life easier. Take a good look around the Government eServices Exhibition and you will see what the world of technology has to offer.
e.oman projects comprising the Official eGovernment Services Portal, Oman Government Network, ePayment Gateway, National Data Centre, Innovation & Support Centre, eTransactions Law, National IT Training and Awareness, Oman National CERT, and the e.oman Awareness campaign will be some of the highlights during the five-day ICT show.
These services are housed together at the Information Technology Authority (ITA) pavilion, aimed at enhancing the public’s awareness of the importance and practical applications of these services in developing a digital knowledge society. These services are also aimed at improving the government’s electronic service standards, further ensuring accuracy and ease of usage.
This year’s COMEX has grown considerably in size and offers greater numbers of activities. This year the exhibition has been prepared bearing in mind all segments of society. For example, there is a special section for children, where they can find a number of attractive and useful technologies. Or, come and enjoy a cup of coffee in the eServices café and log onto one of our computers to take part in our competitions.
A new demonstration area is located at the centre of the exhibition centre, where global ICT providers will launch new products to the Gulf region as well as demonstrate upcoming technology and gadgets.
As the flagship trade fair for the ICT industry in the Sultanate, COMEX 2010 will host a specialised conference to be held on 27 April which will focus on the eGovernment Technologies and eBusiness Innovation Solutions. The conference will serve as the platform to discuss ICT-related topics, issues and also as an international forum for knowledge sharing. Dr. Salim Al Ruzaiqi, Chief Executive Officer, Information Technology Authority (ITA) will be the Keynote Speaker.
The COMEX conference will discuss the overview of the Sultanate’s ICT challenges and challenges, the digital transformation of the Sultanate towards becoming a digital knowledge based society. COMEX will also feature a CIO Forum on 28 April; an exclusive platform for Chief Information Officers (CIOs), IT managers, and IT professionals to exchange knowledge and ideas on the top ICT challenges, issues on security and virtualization trends.
