Professor Nick Binedell, dean of GIBS, said, “We are pleased to have again been ranked in line with prestigious business schools across the world. This year it is encouraging to see another South African school ranking in the world’s top fifty; we congratulate Stellenbosch Business School on this achievement.”
“These rankings are an affirmation once again that as business schools we are making a difference in the lives of the individuals and companies we serve. We will continue to enhance and improve the quality of our programmes to keep abreast of the extraordinarily dynamic world business operates in,” he added.
The Financial Times executive education rankings are the result of a joint assessment of two other rankings: “customised programmes” which are elaborated in alignment with company specific needs and “open programmes” which are intensive courses for executive development. GIBS moved up to number 42 this year, up one position from the previous year.
In terms of the custom programme category, GIBS is ranked 15th for “overseas programmes” and 21st for “partner schools”. These factors highlight the international dimension of GIBS’ programmes.
“We have a high-performing team of dedicated individuals who take time to understand the client’s needs be it at an individual or company level and we believe that forming these partnerships with our clients is part of the impact we continually aim for,” says Shaun Rozyn, executive director, Corporate Education, GIBS.
