The Minister said there is an increasing amount of information and thus the need for excellent record management. “The Ministry of State for Public Service has been undertaking reforms geared towards improving service delivery. Government intends to bring sanity and make it more efficient in its business and response to the citizens”, he said. The minister added that the system aims at ensuring that there is accountability and good governance.
He added that strategy will provide a common vision and guidance to managing records for the next five years. Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Zimbabwe are among the British colonies that operate a paper based registry system. These countries have faced problems with their record management system because they haven’t been effective and cost effective.
