This was said to Angop on Wednesday by the independent consultant for municipal development field, Helena Farinha, on the sidelines of a seminar on “governance and gender”, promoted by the Angolan Women Network.
She said that the compliance with SADC recommendations is a State challenge; therefore, efforts should be redoubled, due to the low participation of political parties regarding the inclusion of gender in the structures, but ruling MPLA and opposition UNITA parties.
According to her, one of SADC recommendations on the participation of women in decision-making organs, is that member states should change discriminating attitudes, establishing and strengthening structures for better inclusion of a gender perspective.
