Virtual City Launches a Virtual Live Experience

Virtual City, a mobility solutions company, has launched a new cloud platform for consumer mobile applications and supply chain automation. The new platform aggregates mobile apps, mobile money and several vertical segment services in distribution,health, education, transport, retail and utilities. The mobile applications aggregator platform contains consumers, merchants, corporates, mobile money entities, handset manufacturers, entrepreneurs, marketers, developers, academic institutions, banks and service delivery partners. "The technology platforms we are developing our applications on allow users to own a device costing as little as $10 with full preset integration to the various mobile money platforms to provide a complete value chain experience," said the company in a statement. The aggregator Appstore will bring together the more than 4000+ mobile developers spread across Kenya developing apps across various technologies such as android, J2ME, android, Symbian and windows and will integrate the mobile apps created by the developers into numerous payment systems and hence create value and sustainability for all in the chain. With the new platform, citizens can start their various businesses and setup easy to use CRM applications that allow them to collaborate with business partners and clients. They can also collaborate with their clients through a pay & go arrangement for a contact center. "Mobile developers can use our developer publishing platforms to deploy and launch their applications that will be used by different consumers country wide...citizens can download applications to get onto buses, to pay for their fuel, to make Government complaints, to pay school fees, to pay for parking tickets and others.
