Speaking at the creche yesterday Mohlala said: "Wednesday is Expanded Public Works Programme day. That is why you see us in overalls."
She said it was the responsibility of the government to make sure children were taught that only education would guarantee them a brighter future.
The MEC said children needed to be taught in conditions that were conducive to learning and that government was helping to make sure even creches were upgraded.
She praised the staff at the school and said education started from the lowest level. Mohlala said she knew there were challenges in the running of creches.
She expressed how impressed she was that teachers and other dedicated staffers were carrying on, regardless of the myriad of challenges they faced.
During a handing-over ceremony earlier yesterday at the Vhembe district municipality community hall, Mohlala handed 51 title deeds to residents of the Thulamela local municipality, 13 to those in the Makhado local municipality, and one to a resident in the Mutale local municipality.
