The forum will take place from 24 - 28 October 2011 in Chicago.
Themed ‘Building Bridges through Women Empowerment’, the week-long programme will seek to promote skills and business development across an array of sectors.
The forum will, among other issues, focus on the role of women in international trade, doing business in South Africa and employment of people with disabilities. In the United States, October is Disability Awareness Month.
Xingwana will deliver keynote addresses on business to business networking for women and empowering women for economic growth in South Africa.
On 28 October, Xingwana will join her US counterpart in the roundtable discussion on women’s development issues, which will be at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
The South African business organisations which will participate in the programme include Business Unity South Africa, International Women’s Association in South Africa, Business Women’s Association, Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council and the South African Women Entrepreneurs’ Network.
