Zuma said the election of Rousseff to the highest office in Brazil would further strengthen and consolidate the two countries’ collective efforts to transform the Global Governance and Monetary/Financial Institutions.
“We, as Government and the People of South Africa, wish President Rousseff success in her new role as the leader of the Brazilian people,” he said.
On Monday, US President Barack Obama called Rousseff to congratulate her on her victory in the election, the White House said in a statement.
Obama commended the people of Brazil for their faith and commitment to democracy. He also underscored the excellent working relationship between the United States and Brazil, and his commitment to deepening this cooperation and exploring new areas of collaboration. – BuaNews-Xinhua
