We are working towards efficient, safe and reliable transport in all parts of our continent,” said Chief Director in the Department of Transport Themba Vundla.
“We are therefore pleased that our Zambian counterparts are in South Africa to learn more about our cross border, vehicle licencing and traffic law enforcement programmes as well as to ensure improved coordination of intra-continental transport plans,” he said.
Zambia’s Deputy Director of Transport, Robert Mtonga, said their government was looking at amending its road traffic laws and regulations.
“Cognizance of the achievements made by the Government of South Africa in the area of road transport policy formulation and regulation, the RTSA is inspired to learn from South Africa,” Mtonga said. - BuaNews
