Zuma to Meet His Top Management

The President is expected to ask the top managers to tell him what they are doing to change the way they run government departments in line with directives he made clear during his State of the Nation Address earlier this year.

“The President saw a need to engage with the DGs and DDGs directly so that they can get the message from him directly on what he wants changed in the way they work,” said the Presidency in a statement.

The meeting arises from Zuma’s drive to improve service delivery through making public servants do things differently to deliver services faster and in a caring manner.

Moves are afoot in the public service to create a delivery and performance-orientated state with all ministers signing delivery agreements and all public servants finalising performance agreements and workplans.

Zuma will be accompanied by Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe, Minister Collins Chabane, Minister Sicelo Shiceka, Minister Richard Baloyi and Deputy Minister Nhlanhla Nene.  –BuaNews
