The United Nations E-Government Survey 2016 is Now Available in Chinese

The United Nations E-Government Survey 2016: E-Government in Support of Sustainable Development is now available in Chinese. The Survey presents a systematic assessment of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to transform the public sector by enhancing its efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, inclusiveness and supporting access to public services and citizen participation.

The GAP Innovation Competitions are looking for innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs that are working on novel ideas that will improve the efficiency of government service delivery, increase the competitiveness of the local economy and enhance the quality of life of ordinary citizens. 12th Pan-African Ministerial Forum on the Modernization of Public Services and State Institutions
The Ministry of Public Service and Modernization of the Administration of the Kingdom of Morocco, CAFRAD and ACBF are organizing form the 31st of May to the 1st of June 2016, the 12th Pan-African Ministerial Forum on the Modernization of Public Services and State Institutions. Remote Participation for the 2016 WSIS Forum Facilitation Meetings
  DPADM/UNDESA and ITU will be organizing two facilitation meetings during the 2016 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum. The themes of meetings will be “The Role of Public Authorities and Global/Regional Cooperation in Ensuring that No One is Left Behind in the Information Society” and “How e-Government can ensure that no one is left behind in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. The facilitation meetings will provide a platform for participants to exchange information and experiences; to identify priority areas for implementation within the Action Lines and to explore synergies among different stakeholders for more effective knowledge sharing and collaboration in the implementation process. The 15th Session of UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA), 18-22 April, New York

The United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) will meet in New York, 18-22 April to discuss how to transform public institutions so as to best support the implementation and review of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Committee will reflect on how to elaborate and implement effective and innovative policies to realize the SDGs and review their impact. It will also reflect on how to ensure that priorities are established and decisions are made in a fair, inclusive and accountable manner . Another theme will be how to improve engagement and communication between Governments and various actors such as through access to information, and electronic and mobile solutions. On the agenda of the Committee are also ways to build trust in public administrations by addressing with corruption as well as efforts to develop transformative leadership and public servants' competencies. The recommendations of the Committee will support the work of the Economic and Social Council and contribute to the review of the High Level Political Forum on sustainable development on "Ensuring that no one is left behind".
