AAPAM 36th Conference

The African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) in partnership and close coordination with the Ministry of Public Service and the Modernization of Administration of the Kingdom of Morocco, and the  Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) are organizing the 36th Annual Conference of AAPAM, in Rabat, from 2 to 6 March, 2015, on the following theme: Effective Partnership  for Citizen Centred Sustainable Development. More than 300 participants representing 30 African States are expected to attend this important Conference which will be an excellent opportunity to assess what has been done so far by AAPAM and set up a Road map for the future.

South Africa: SA to Host Extra-Ordinary SADC Summit
President Jacob Zuma, in his capacity as the Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, will on Friday host a SADC meeting on Lesotho. President Zuma will host the Heads of State of the SADC Double Troika for an Extra-ordinary Summit of the Double Troika, set to take place in Pretoria. Deputy President and SADC Facilitator to Lesotho, Cyril Ramaphosa, returned from Lesotho after being dispatched there by President Zuma on Friday.

South Africa: SA Public Sector ICT Spending Analysis 2015-2019
This research service provides an analysis of ICT spend by the public sector in South Africa. The objective of the study is to contextualize ICT investment within the sector across 7 categories: cellular connectivity, cloud services, data centres, fixed and non-cellular connectivity, IT hardware, managed services, and systems integration. The analysis includes an overview of the public sector, drivers and restraints, and technology trends driving investment in ICT, highlighting both the current and future spend from 2015 to 2019. The base year for analysis is 2014. As a result of the global economic crisis, governments have shifted the focus of their information and communication technologies (ICT) budgets and spend onto projects that do not require massive ICT spending such as the improvement of eAdministration and ePublic service initiatives.
