||Community Action towards a Safer Environment (CASE) strives to break the cycle of violence in communities inflicted by years of trauma. Various projects and techniques are implemented to transform the community through the development of community members, creating a positive cycle of healthy individuals, families and community.
CASE is conducting a workshop on Working in Contexts of Continuous Trauma - Context, Impact and Intervention on 14 August 2013 in Rondebosch, Cape Town.
Lane Benjamin, a Clinical Psychologist working in the community of Hanover Park Cape Town, will be running a CPD accredited workshop on the Context, Impact and Intervention of working in environments where people experience continuous trauma.
This workshop is for participants who work with children and youth in a low income area, and violent environment and learners who act out violent behaviour at school. The workshop will assist individuals to understand why and how to deal with those situations.
The workshop participants should:
• Work with children or youth;
• Work in a low income area;
• Work in environments that are violent and where people continuous experience violence at schools, in peer groups and in the home environment; and
• Be a registered counsellor, psychologist or a health care professional.
Space is limited.
CPD points: seven CEU's.
