The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs held a Meeting of the Executive Committee of Economic and Social Affairs (ECESA) on Governance and Institution Building (GIB) Cluster at Conference Room B, Conference Building, at the United Nations Headquarters, New York on Thursday, 10 April 2014 from 4:00PM to 5:30PM.
The Governance and Institution Building (GIB) is one of the ten thematic clusters of the Executive Committee of Economic and Social Affairs (ECESA).
The ECESA-GIB Platform is set up by the Division for Public Administration and Development Management of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA/DPADM), which leads the cluster, to facilitate online information exchange among cluster members.
ECESA-GIB is composed of UN entities (including UNDESA, UNDP, ECA, ESCAP, ESCWA, ECLAC, OHCHR, OSAA, UNEP, RCNYO, ITU, UNWOMEN, UNODC, UNHABITAT, UNRSID, UNU and ECESA Secretariat) that come together to explore synergies and cooperation possibilities to better serve the United Nations Member States and development stakeholders within a more integrated framework on governance and institution building.
All ECESA-GIB Cluster Members and Focal Points, as well as Governance and Institution Building advocates, were welcomed to attend this Meeting to foster the sharing of information on recent and future GIB events, as well as other outputs that will surely generate more opportunities for
