Access Markets for Profit Workshop

Description: The Africa Craft Trust is a Southern African nonprofit organisation that implements programmes to enable the growth of commercially viable craft enterprises and invests in the holistic support of crafters and the sector. The Africa Craft Trust is based in Johannesburg and promotes the development of the Southern African craft industry through holistic, collaborative and market driven programmes inspired by handmade traditions. The Trust develops and runs innovative, ground-breaking and effective regional programmes that generate sustainable business for craft entrepreneurs. The Trust was originally founded by Aid to Artisans, a United States-based NGO implementing craft development programmes globally since 1976.

The Africa Craft is conducting a four-day workshop on bi-annual Access Markets for Profit training from 7-10 March 2014 in Johannesburg.

Africa Craft is also calling for scholarship applications.

The Access Markets for Profit programme is an innovative and practical, hands-on programme which is designed for craft business in Africa who want to take their business to a new level of profitability. This four day course, held at the largest Trade Fair in Southern Africa, covers all of the key elements of running a successful handmade business.

Immerse yourself in the market, conduct your own market research at SARCDA or Decorex, the top South African trade shows. Africa Craft's programme offers the latest trend and market information delivered by industry experts. Africa Craft develops new content for each session to reflect the most relevant market issues facing the craft sector today. Participants will receive product review ideas from experienced designers and marketing experts.
