|
Start Date: |
Nov 26, 2013 |
End Date: |
Nov 27, 2013 |
Venue: |
The Planetarium, Bogota |
Description: |
The Workshop is jointly organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of the Government of Colombia and the United Nations Development Programme in Colombia. It aims to provide a forum so that existing frameworks can be discussed in a non-prescriptive manner to benefit countries that can learn from the experience of others on ICT and e-government. Participants will review and analyse approaches and best practices of e-Leaders (Ministers/Presidential Advisors/Heads of Regulatory Agencies/ Head of Departments/ Chief Information Officers) in responding to the challenges of e-Government development. E-xperience will tackle the usual challenges that countries face as they align their development priorities with their e-government strategies. The workshop will serve as a platform for e-Leaders to share and exchange practices with other countries in the region. Country experiences and lessons learned will then be used to enrich the development of the Center of Innovation on e-Government Development. The workshop will also promote a platform to introduce and advocate the activities of the Center.
OBJECTIVES:
The Workshop aims at developing the capacity of governments to utilize ICTs and the potential of e-government to enhance the delivery of services. This event has been designed as a dynamic space that makes use of innovative methods to share knowledge and new trends, thus projecting Colombia as a sounding board for e-knowledge dissemination.
