Call for Proposals: Citizen Focused Frontline Service Delivery
The Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) invites all South African government departments/municipalities (national, provincial and local) and other institutions in partnership with a department/municipality to apply for funding under this call themed: Citizen Focused Frontline Service Delivery.

Applicants are required to submit a short concept note in response to this call. Should a private service provider and/or civil society organisations wish to participate, it must be done in partnership with a government department/municipality that will act as the lead applicant.

South Africa: Gauteng Invests in Ten Community Sports Centres
Westbury in the south of Johannesburg will be the first to benefit from a flagship project to build 10 multimillion rand state-of-the art multipurpose sports centres across Gauteng over the next five years. Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Molebatsi Bopape unveiled the project called Operation Mabaleng (playing fields) on Thursday.

Ethopia: AU Leaders Urged to Empower Women, Children
African leaders meeting for the 24th African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, have been urged to come up with a clear road map for the development and empowerment of women in the continent as well as a plan to end child marriages. “The leaders need to know that the young women and girls are here and they are not a statistic. The leaders need to create time to meet, dialogue, listen and then act,” said AU Goodwill Ambassador for Ending Child Marriage, Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda, at the side-lines of the on-going AU Summit.
