CHD/05/001-Support for Monitoring/Evaluation of the SNRP

CHD/06/001-Strengthening the capacity of national structures in the implementation of the MDGs
Description: UNDP, through this project materializes support to the Government in its efforts to achieve the objectives of the millennium development goals. Thus, the national structures (state and non-state) will benefit from an adaptation program for capacity building and support in areas related to the revision of sectoral and comprehensive strategies, the implementation of economic policy instruments, the implementation of programmes and projects, and communication and advocacy centers on the MDGs.

DJI/03/001-Support for the Programme to Combat Poverty
Description: The programme of support for the fight against poverty (PLCP) aims to assist the Government of Djibouti in the implementation of the national strategy for poverty reduction, where the DSRP is the essential frame of reference. The program is structured around two sub-programmes: (i) supporting national strategies and policies for poverty reduction, (ii) support for sustainable local development in the districts of the interior.

GAB/05/001-Project to support the finalization of a strategic document of the reproduction of poverty in Gabon
Description: Because of its missions and skill areas, the Ministry of Planning and Programming Development of Gabon plays a central role in the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of economic and social policy of Gabon. As part of his responsibilities, the Department has developed and implemented a planner rational approach which is built around the vision of a long-term Gabon called "Gabon 2025", the Law of Guidance for Economic and Social Development, and the Document for the Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy (DSCRP) whose implementation is imminent.

GUI/02/005-Support to the implementation of the Program document of capacity building and governance
Description: The Government of the Republic of Guinea adopted in 2002 the National Programme of Capacity Building and Governance (PNRCG). This program is a response to the targets contained in the DSRP in terms of capacity building and improved governance. Built with the support of UNDP, under the aegis of the National Secretariat for Capacity Building (SENAREC), the PNRCG constitutes the framework for all initiatives in the area of capacity building. The success of the program requires that UNDP supports the government in the implementation and awareness of external partners for participation and financing of the programme components.

GUI/02/006-Implementation of the strategy for the reduction of poverty
Description: This project consists of the following items: (1) the formulation of a national policy of employment, (2) advocacy on the theme of poverty in the framework of the National Reports on Human Development (3) the institutionalization of a permanent legere inquiry on poverty and the integration of social variables in the macro-economic models to support the system for monitoring the impacts of poverty; (4) taking into account AIDS in the strategies of reduction of poverty; (5) strengthening the operational capabilities of micro-finance institutions.

INT/06/X44-The Anti-Seismic Building Code Dissemination (ABCD) project for the Housing Earthquake Safety Initiative (HESI) 
Description: 1) evaluate building safety regulations and implementation systems in the target countries; 2) raise awareness of stakeholders (including governments, academic institutions, NGOs and communities); 3) develop effective and efficient policies on the dissemination of building safety regulations in the target countries; 4) build capacity of stakeholders in the target countries for the evaluation and development of policies for housing earthquake safety.

INT/07/X28-Gender in Community Based Disaster management Phase I (HTFIX) 
Description: This HTF is the project aiming to prevent the gender losses caused by disasters.  The disaster occurred in the world caused by both natural technology leads to injury, death, and also property losses, in regardless to the "gender".  But it is a fact that in general women are weaker and often get the disaster results at the higher fatality rate than men.  HTF IX focuses on the following specific objectives; 1) Evaluate the gender sensitivity of disaster management policies and statistical and social indicators in the target countries; 2) Raise awareness of stakeholders including governments, academic institutions, NGOs and communities; 3) Disseminate effective and efficient educational materials throught workshops and/or trainings and policies of gender sensitivities in the target countries; 4) Build capacity of stakeholders in the target countries for the evaluation and development of gender sensitive policies.

INT/97/X71-Research and Training Programme on Capacity Building of Regional Development Planning and and Management in LAC 
Description: 1) contribution to the identification/building and dissemination of effective approaches to sustainable regional development in the context of available institutional capability in the LAC countries; 2) increasing awareness on the key issues to be addressed for sustainable urban and regional development vis-a-via the priority social/economic and environmental concerns of LAC cities and regions; 3) assisting key policymakers from central/regional and local governments to develop appropriate strategies to address the issues and to promote cooperation among LAC countries to implement sustainable programme; 4) promoting strong partnerships for the exchange of ideas and networking of information on regional development.

INT/98/X70-UN Centre for Regional Development 
Description:  Number of Human Security threats in Latin America and the Caribbean countries territories increased related to the poverty and unemployment results in plenty of vulnerabilities such as a deficient provision of basic services, degradation of natural resources, civil conflict and violence, regional disparities, etc.  This project, therefore, is aiming to reduce those problems by building institutional capacity of regional governments and regional development institutions to address critical threats to human security.  The project will proceed under a variety of promotion, training, and diffusion workshop activities.

RAF/02/009-Support Program of monitoring / evaluation of the Strategy Documents of Poverty Reduction (PRSP) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Sub-Saharan Francophone Africa
Description: While the development of strategies for poverty reduction (PRSP) is common throughout Africa, and that the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) provide a frame of reference for medium-term development policies, the project aims to support, in French-speaking countries of sub-Saharan Africa, the creation of technical and institutional capacity necessary to monitor these initiatives. The project will contribute to the definition of an appropriate methodological framework, will provide technical training, and ensure the harmonization and coordination of approaches in the collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of all players the donors require.

RAF/02/020-Support for preparation of high quality national human development reports and mainstreaming human development national development programs in Africa
Description: The objective is to reinforce capacity building in sub-sahara African countries for analyzing their state of human development and formulating sound human development policies and programmes within the context of national development initiatives. It is best expected that this objective will be attained through reinforcement of knowledge networks and exchange of best practices in the area of human development, preparation of high quality NHDRs, policy analysis and operationalization of the human development approach to sustainable long-term development. The project is, therefore, intended to complement UNDP’s support to NHDR preparatory processes at the national level. There will be close collaboration with BDP and NHDRO.

RAF/04/007-Economic policies in support of MDGs and Poverty Reduction
Description: The project has two major focus areas as follows: i) integrating poverty reduction objectives into national economic policymaking and general socio-economic development strategies and programmes; and ii) facilitating viable policy options and institutional mechanisms to foster more pro-poor macroeconomic stabilization strategies, sustainable growth and higher levels of human development. The project will complement other related regional and country programmes supporting preparation and implementation of Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSPs) and building more effective linkages between PRSPs and MDGs, as well as statistical capacity building and socio-economic policy impact asessments.

RAS/05/X01-Reducing Vulnerability of School Children to Earthquakes
Description: The disaster caused by earthquake leads to injury, death, and also property losses.  This project, therefore,  is the project aiming to prevent the losses caused by earthquake.  The project’s overall objective is to ensure that future generations living in seismically vulnerable areas have access to earthquake-safer schools, and that local communities build the necessary capacities, through education and training, to cope with earthquake disasters. The project focuses on: 1) Developing and transferring earthquake-protective technology to school buildings which is physical and concerned with transferring earthquake-safer construction technology to the community; 2) Promoting education related to earthquake disasters which provides education to students, teachres, and communities on disaster preparedness in order to raise awareness and create self-reliant capacities.

RAS/05/X03-National EST Stratregies and Capacity Building for Socio-Economic Concerns
Description: During the last few decades, urban areas in the Asia and Pacific region have witnessed significant population increase and economic development.  It is critical in creating employment, alleviating poverty and making available resources for infrastructure and human resource development, but it has also led to increased demand for transport facilities and supplies that resulting significant environmental consequences.  This project, therefore, is the project aiming to solve the problem of population increase and economic development.  It focuses on the promote integration of environmental considerations in the transport sector in Asia.

SAU/07/002-Support for Policy Analysis and Strategic Planning in Saudi Arabia Phase II 
Description: The two year MOEP/UNDP project falls within the framework of a six-year capacity building programme for the Ministry of Economy and Planning. The three mayor objectives of the six-year programme are: (a) too build the capacity of the MEP in the main areas of economic and social policy analysis, sectoral and strategic planning, regional and decentralized planning and plan monitoring and implementation; (b) to integrate the various capacity building and support initiatives firmly into the institutional and organizational setting of the MOEP; (c) to conduct an effective and focused staff training programme for Saudi nationals through the medium of special technical support facilities in the selected technical/substantive areas.
