Call for Project Descriptions
In light of the importance of e-government as a tool to meet the Millennium
Development Goals, the Division for Public Administration and Development
Management, through its online network for Public Administration (UNPAN),
has created a compendium of innovative practices in the area of e-government.
In accordance with UNPAN’s mission to promote the sharing
of knowledge experiences and best practices among United Nations Member
States, the Compendium provides an opportunity to the Governments to share
with the world their activities in e-government by highlighting their
valuable experiences.
The second version of the Compendium on E-government Innovative
Practices was published online in September 2006 and printed
in hard copy in June 2007. It includes 200 cases from 57 different countries,
and can be accessed at: http://unpan1.un.org/intradoc/groups/public/documents/UN/UNPAN023997.pdf
We will publish annual reviews of the Compendium. If you manage or are
in any way related to an innovative e-government application in your country,
either at the national or local level, that you consider valuable and
that you would like to see included in the Compendium, you can provide
us the information, with the understanding that it will be reviewed and
considered for inclusion, and may be revised.
Please see the following brief guidelines when submitting the project
description of the application, which should not exceed five (5) pages:
- Project description (background, area of application, main functions
and features); objectives; impact/results (including benefits and costs
generated by the project); key issues (problems encountered during the
implementation stage); results as compared with expectations; and target
groups;
- Lessons learned (including feedback).
Also you should provide:
- Weblink of the application/solution;
- Contact details of a person who can provide more information.
Responsibility for updates (as needed) will rest with the person who
originated the information.
