31 July 2015 Deadline for Written Submissions for the WSIS+10 Overall Review Outcome Document
  We would like to remind all stakeholders that the deadline for written submissions for the "non-paper" on the desired structure and content of the UN General Assembly's WSIS+10 overall review outcome document is 31 July. In that regard, Co-facilitators, Ambassador Jānis Mažeiks, Permanent Representative of Latvia, and Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates, reached out to all permanent Member and Observer States to encourage submissions before the deadline. Guiding questions and a description of the submission process are available by following this link. We strongly encourage all stakeholders to contribute.

Following the release of the non-paper, all stakeholders will again be invited to submit comments electronically through the second week of September.

UN Launches the Russian 2014 E - Government Survey at the Astana Economic Forum

The 2014 UN E-Government Survey in now available in Russian thanks to the collaboration between the Ministry of Investment and Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.  The Survey is also available in English, Arabic and Chinese.

Culture Key to Global Sustainable Development - High-level Panel Discussion and Luncheon
  How can global cultural partnerships better support peace, harmony, social cohesion, as well as cooperative initiatives in support of local, national, regional and global sustainability? The China Energy Fund Committee (CEFC), an ECOSOC-accredited NGO, and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA), will be co-organizing a High-level Panel Discussion and Luncheon at the United Nations, focusing on culture as an enabler of sustainable development.

The High-level Panel Discussion and Luncheon will be held from 1:15 to 2:30 pm, Tuesday, 21 April 2015, in the Delegates Dining Room, United Nations Headquarters New York.

e-Discussion on the 2015 ECOSOC Theme
You are cordinally invited to join the e-discussion on the 2015 ECOSOC Theme of “Managing the transition from the Millennium Development Goals to the sustainable development goals: What it will take”. The e-discussion will take place 17 February to 17 March 2015. 

The purpose of the e-discussion is to engage policymakers, experts, practitioners and stakeholder groups in a global dialogue on specific aspects of the 2015 ECOSOC theme. It consists of four concurrently running thematic windows, each led by an expert moderator. The thematic windows address: i) policy choices and mindset change for an integrated agenda;  ii) adaptation by institutions and structures; iii) partnerships for the implementation of the SDGs and the post-2015 agenda; and iv) monitoring and review.  

The e-discussion is co-ordinated and organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). The DESA/Office for ECOSOC Support and Coordination is leading the e-discussion for DESA, with substantive support provided by the DESA/Division for Public Administration and Development Management.

Call for Workshop Proposals
  The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Secretariat is issuing a call for workshop proposals for the IGF 2015 meeting. Interested individuals and entities are kindly asked to submit workshop proposals through the online form which will be available on the IGF website from 9 March 2015. The deadline for submission is 30 March 2015. Meanwhile, workshop proponents are invited to consult the template of the submission form, the Guidelines for workshop proposals, as well as the MAG workshop review and evaluation process.

The Independent Oversight Role of SAIs in Implementing the Post-2015 Development Agenda

Within the broad context of intergovernmental deliberations on the post-2015 development agenda, the Permanent Missions of Austria, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of Korea and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA/DPADM) are co-organizing a panel discussion on 21 January 2015 at UN Headquarters in New York, focusing on the independent oversight role of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in implementing the post-2015 development agenda.
